The Bed

Here are some photos of LittleZabba's new bed. She did great last night and during nap time today. I think she made a perfect transition into the bed. She is so grown up!

Change

Guess where LittleZabba is sleeping tonight?! In her very own big girl bed! She was so excited today. She couldn't wait for DaddyZabba to get home from picking up the bed. She was quite giddy when she saw the bed parts coming in the door. It was a family affair putting it together and getting the sheets on the bed. Every 2 minutes she asked if she could get on the bed.

I would post a picture of her new bed, but we left the camera in her room and I don't want to risk going in there to get it. She whimpered a tiny bit when I put her to bed, but from the sounds coming from the monitor, she just might be asleep. Now I just hope that she doesn't fall out of bed.

Today I heard LittleZabba counting:

Wuv

Today LittleZabba said that she loved me. This was the first time that she said this on her own, totally un-prompted. The conversation went something like this (we were listening to a CD by our friend Becki):

LZ: I wuv Becki. I wuv you Mommy. I wuv Melmo and Cookie Foster too. I like my sister, she is funny. I wuv my (BZ's name), I wuv my Daddy too.

Does it still count, even though Elmo & Cookie Monster were included too?

The Choice

Tonight at dinner LittleZabba exclaimed,

I choose obey!

It begins, maybe

This morning I have tried potty training with LittleZabba (she is 26 months). All morning she has been running around bare bum, with her babylegs on of course to stay warm. So far we have had no accidents, and she has tinkled twice in the potty! Maybe the lack of accidents has been due to the fact that the TV has been on and she likes to sit on the little potty while she watches. DaddyZabba thinks that this is a little early, but I am proud of myself for waiting this long with her. When BigZabba was 12 months old the potty training began (which I know is way too early, but I wanted to be the Mom that had her kid potty trained first), so this feels like forever to me. Who knows how long this will last. I am not convinced that she gets it, even with her two successes today I don't think she understands how it all works. the true test will be when she gets up to play...will she run back to the potty or make a mess. Thank God for hard wood floors.

Messy = Fun

The girls wanted to do some painting. Out came the art box and the painting began. Before long there was a lot of abstract art happening. Soon they abandoned their brushes and started in with their fingers. Things got messy, clothes needed washed, but we had fun!

Happy Birthday

Today LittleZabba turns 2 years old! She has brought such joy to our lives. She still loves to sit on the couch and cuddle, loves her Mommy and Daddy time, and loves to be with her big sister. LittleZabba is such a light in our lives. I love her more and more with each day. She can brighten up any room with her awesome smile.

I love you all the bones in my body, all the stars in the sky, all the sand and the sea, and so much more!

News & Notes

LittleZabba wasn't so thrilled with her dinner the other night. Do I really need to eat this Mom?






BigZabba participated in her school's jog-a-thon today. She said she wanted to try to run 4 laps (she had 30 minutes so we were sure she would be able to run more than that). She ended up running 26! Great job BigZabba!

Extreme Double-Dipping

LittleZabba has perfected the art of double-dipping. Not only does each chip get dipped more than once, but in an effort to achieve the ultimate dip-to-chip ratio, she actually licks the dip off each chip until it's gone.

The chip itself is only consumed after it's so soggy from repeated licking that it no longer has the structural integrity to lift the next bite of dip into her mouth.

We don't recommended trying to share your dip with LittleZabba.

once she realized I wasn't answering anymore she moved on to BigZabba

then she moved on,

LZ - Mama, Dada (who wasn't even in the car), Mama, BigZabba, Dada, Dada, Mama, Dada, BigZabba. (this continued in a very sing songy voice the entire way home)

Then I realized she wasn't really talking to us, she just likes hearing her own voice. It quickly went from super annoying to really funny.

Tommee Tippee

When BigZabba was born someone, I can't remember who, gave us this bib. For whatever reason I never used it. Now with LittleZabba we use it all the time! It really saves a lot of messes. Most of the time LittleZabba spills all the food into the "bib trough" then she eats out of the bib. So a huge thank you to the person who gifted us with the Tommee Tippee bib. (for those who wonder, she isn't crying in this photo, this is her smile)
