Tonight something in BigZabba's brain clicked and she is reading!! She read 40 pages of a Dick and Jane book!! She kept wanting to read more and more.. "Let's read the next one and the next one!" At first I wasn't sure she was really reading it, but I had her read pages that she hadn't seen before and she did it. At first she was sounding out every word, but as she repeated the words more and more she got faster and better. She is super excited. As I write this she is in bed reading more.

Second Thoughts
Since my previous post about homeschooling I am having second thoughts. I recently heard of a school not too far away, but in another district, that sounds perfect for BigZabba. While working in her class I love to sit back and watch her interact with the other students and her teacher. She really seems to thrive in that environment. Attending school will be good for her socially and academically. On the other hand, teaching her at home will give her much more one on one time, and she will be able to learn more (probably). I really feel torn about what to do. The things that concerned me about her local school are perfect at the other school. I will be taking a tour of the school and getting information about enrollment in the coming weeks. I know that she will do great in either environment, but I just want to do what is right, what is best for her. I can't seem to find my "The Answers to Every Parenting Question" Book...anyone have their copy?

Worm Feast
While driving we saw many bird formations flying in the sky. BigZabba was very excited to see all the "V's" of birds. She then said,

Back in the Saddle
I want running this morning and much to my surprise my leg did not hurt afterwards. So, I guess that means I am back at it. I was able to run 3 miles in 29 minutes 20 seconds, not too bad for taking a 6 week hiatus! Maybe this is a good reason to visit Lucy to buy a new running outfit!

Chocolate
me - I don't know what to have for dinner. Maybe I should eat my box of chocolates Daddy gave me.
bigzabba - No, that is junk food. You can't eat junk food for dinner. If you eat too much junk food you could die.

On the Mend
All the Zabbas are nearly healthy. LittleZabba still has a nagging cough, but there really isn't anything you can do about that & BigZabba's eyes are nearly better. So for now I think we are on the mend.An update on the closet - the electrical is finished, the insulation is in, the drywall is up. Let the taping and mudding begin!

Germville
I am finally over my sinus infection, LittleZabba still sounds like she is breathing through mud and BigZabba who has lived in this house for the last 3 weeks without getting sick at all...well she now has an eye infection. DaddyZabba, watch out! You're next.

Oprah's Pick
My friend Tori Higa was featured this month in O Magazine! Her cards are wonderful. It doesn't surprise me that Oprah thinks so too!

Fun
While doing home projects we still try to have fun with it. So we turned a family trip to Home Depot into a donut picnic. First we went to our favorite donut store to get one dozen donuts...then we ate nearly all of them while walking the aisles of Home Depot. What could be better...power tools and donuts.

Knock Knock
Today's joke is courtesy of BigZabba.
Who's there?
Bird.
Bird who?
Aren't you so glad you love crows.

The Latest
Following the birth of Baby P I came down with quite a cold which turned into a nasty sinus infection. But even in the midst of being sick we came up with yet another project to keep us busy. (as if we need more things to occupy our time)
As you may remember we recently re-organized my sewing room.
Well, now it looks like this:
My once semi-organized closet looked this this:
and now it looks like this:
We discovered that behind the closet is what BigZabba likes to call her new playhouse. The space that DaddyZabba is standing in was hiding behind that closet all this time. Since AllyZabba is starting to expand I need more storage space, so we decided to cut a big hole in the wall and expand the closet to create more storage. It is creating quite a mess, but it is going to be really great once it is done. We are not going to put the closet doors back up, but instead we will create a desk area there for BigZabba to use during homeschooling. The new space will then be the closet and storage space for AllyZabba. It is all very exciting. Hopefully in the next few weeks it will all get put back together.

She's Here!
Today was the most incredible day. Baby Girl P was born at 1:33pm weighing in at 8 lbs. 5 oz. 20 3/4 inches long. Mrs. P was so incredible. She was so in control during her drug free labor. She was just awesome.
